Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026. In one line: your contacts stay on your device (or, only if you choose, in your own Google Drive), and we have no servers, no accounts, and no idea who you are.
Everything you put into Sovenn (your contacts, their birthdays, your notes, your templates) is stored only in your own web browser (its local storage) on the device you're using. It is never uploaded to us: there is no Sovenn server, no Sovenn account, and no Sovenn database. We literally cannot see your data. The one place your data can go (only if you switch it on yourself) is your own Google Drive, described just below.
If you want your circle on more than one device, you can turn on Google Drive sync in Settings. When you do, Sovenn signs you in with Google and keeps a copy of your data, sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, in a private, app-only folder of your own Google Drive (its "appDataFolder"), which only Sovenn on your devices can read: not other apps, and not us. It is your Drive and your Google account; Sovenn has no server in the middle and never sees the file. Sync stays off until you switch it on, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings.
Sovenn contains no advertising, no analytics, no third-party trackers, and no tracking cookies. We do not collect, sell, or share any personal information, because we never receive any in the first place.
A few small, honest exceptions: the site is hosted on Cloudflare, which serves the files and (like most web hosts) may log standard request metadata and automatic network-error reports; the app loads its typeface from Google Fonts; and the beta build includes an optional feedback form (Tally) that opens only if you choose to send feedback. None of these ever receives your contacts or your notes. They only see what a normal web request reveals (and, for feedback, the text you type).
When you tap to message someone, Sovenn opens WhatsApp with a draft pre-filled. You review and send it yourself, from your own number. When you add a date to Google Calendar, Sovenn opens Google Calendar with the event pre-filled for you to confirm. In both cases, Sovenn only hands you a link; it does not send anything on your behalf and does not transmit your data to WhatsApp, Meta, or Google. Once you're in those apps, their own privacy policies apply.
You can export a backup of your data. The encrypted backup option protects the file with a passphrase only you know (we cannot recover it). Backup files are saved by you, to wherever you choose, and are never sent to us.
You can edit or delete any contact at any time, and you can erase everything from your device in Settings → "Erase everything on this device." Because the data is local, clearing your browser's site data will also remove it.

Sovenn is local-first: it works fully offline with no account, and the only cloud option, Google Drive sync to your own account, is off until you turn it on. If a future version changes what leaves your device, this policy will be updated and you'll be asked to opt in first.
